Risk Disclosure Policy
Last updated: 1 January 2025
Trading in financial instruments carries a high level of risk and may not be suitable for all investors. Before trading, please read this Risk Disclosure Statement carefully and ensure you fully understand the risks involved.
1. General Investment Risk
The value of investments and the income derived from them can go down as well as up. You may not get back the amount you originally invested.
Past performance is not a reliable indicator of future results. Market conditions change and historical returns cannot be relied upon as a guide to future performance.
2. Leveraged Trading Risk
Many of the products offered by Alliance Global are leveraged instruments. Leverage amplifies both profits and losses.
It is possible to lose more than your initial deposit when trading leveraged products such as CFDs, forex, or margin accounts.
You should never trade with money you cannot afford to lose.
3. Cryptocurrency Risk
Cryptocurrencies are highly volatile assets. Prices can move dramatically in short periods of time.
Crypto markets operate 24/7 and are influenced by a wide range of factors including regulatory news, technology changes, and market sentiment.
Cryptocurrency investments are not covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS).
4. Market Risk
Market risk arises from adverse movements in market prices, including interest rates, exchange rates, and commodity prices.
Markets may become illiquid at times of extreme volatility, making it difficult to execute trades at expected prices.
5. Liquidity Risk
Some instruments may have limited liquidity, especially at market open/close or during periods of low trading volume, which may result in wider spreads.
In extreme market conditions, we may be unable to execute your order at the quoted price.
6. Counterparty Risk
When trading CFDs and other OTC instruments, you are trading with Alliance Global as the counterparty. While we maintain strict segregation of client funds, counterparty risk exists.
Client funds held with us are protected under the FCA's client money rules.
7. Technology Risk
Trading platforms may be subject to technical failures, internet disruptions, or cyber-attacks. These events may prevent you from accessing your account or executing trades.
You should ensure you have alternative means to manage your positions in the event of a platform outage.
